From brewing to serving, they pour their hearts into every pint and every slice, making HiHO Brewing Co. a place of community, flavor, and fun.
-
Ali Hovan
The original “Bossy Lady” herself. Ali is our fearless leader and a veritable Swiss Army human. When she isn’t taking care of her two girls, you can find Ali managing a laundry list of tasks with a vision of constantly improving HiHO. There’s no job inside or outside of the brewery that she can’t handle. Contact Ali for all of your HiHO related business needs.
-
Jon Hovan
Jon is our head brewer and one of the brains behind HiHO’s wide spectrum of beer offerings. He developed a passion for craft beer and has always focused on a quality-first approach when it comes to brewing his own. Jon takes the time to educate the staff on all things beer and has the ability to break down complex brewing processes for anyone to understand. Reach out to Jon for any Brewhouse inquiries
-
Jamie Sipps
If HiHO had a mayor or a mascot, it would be Jamie Sipps. Jamie has a molecular understanding of every single thing that makes HiHO function and we mean that literally. Whether it’s brewing, sustainability, marketing or anything else you can imagine, Jamie is involved and always innovating to keep HiHO on the forefront of the industry. You can direct your Retail question to Jamie here.
-
Brooks Furino
Brooks is an experienced brewer with a passion for overalls…Or lagering. One of those. One thing is for sure, this guy has a last name for a first name. You might only ever see Brooks at HiHO if you show up before we open to the public, most of us haven’t seen him in months. He basically keeps vampire hours.
-
Eric Smith
Eric just sort of appeared at our doorstep in a basket one day. I’m pretty sure he sleeps in the basement, although I’ve never actually seen where. He is a phantom in the night. An enigma. Luckily for us, he knows how to brew some terrific beer. He brings a sort of “who is that guy?” energy to the taproom.
-
Eve Smith
The only thing sweeter than Eve are her confectionary masterpieces, which also happen to be works of art. Eve brings a positive energy to our taproom that we thrive around. Aside from her running the show in the back of the house, her smile is also infectious.
-
Dave Smith
The amount of stuff Dave knows about baking is only matched by what he doesn’t know about maritime law. He is our dough master. You could probably send him a photo of burnt toast and he could tell you what the baker did wrong. Probably.
-
J.J. Pinkerton
J.J. stands for “Jumpin’ Jahosephet,” because that’s what people yell when they see his wicked pickleball serve in action for the first time. The guy is ruthless on the court, but one of the friendliest faces you will come across here at HiHO.
-
Amber Blazeff
What doesn’t Amber do? Our Taproom Manager, Events Coordinator, Bartender, etc. As the lead of our Pints & Pages book club, Amber has helped so many of us find joy in reading together. She is one of the best of us and we are lucky that she is here taking care of all of us. Want to plan an event? Contact Amber here.
-
Sarah Parsons
Sarah has so many skills that fit perfectly for her variety of roles she fills at HiHO. Constantly developing fresh, seasonal menu items in our kitchen and seamlessly managing the cast of personalities behind the bar, Sarah is the type of leader you would run through a brick wall for, because she would do it with you.
-
Amber Dressel
Amber hasn’t seen any movie that wasn’t explicitly made for children under the age of 6. She doesn’t know who Happy Gilmore is and I find that personally offensive. Amber joined the team a couple years ago and fit in seamlessly. She can take a joke, which is a good quality to have when you work with a bunch of high class jokesters.
-
Douglas Dickerhoof, ESQ.
We don’t even really know where Doug came from. He had his wedding reception here and he refused to leave so we handed him a mop. Doug knows a lot about beer, a shocking amount really, so if you have questions about IPAs, lagers and everything else, he’s your guy.
-
Micah Watts
Did you know that Micah was the realtor who found the building that is now our brewery for Ali and Jon? Did you also know that Micah Watts sells homes? Micah is always in a good mood in the taproom during every shift he works. Most importantly, Micah Watts Sells Homes. If you have any Wholesale keg questions, you can reach Micah here.
-
Zacharia Nelson
OK, look, we all know Zach can draw. He illustrates a comic book that he writes with his best friends and he creates “Hollywood Squares” that I’m sure plenty of you own. Did you know he is color blind? Probably, but I still think that’s pretty interesting.
-
Jamie Sopko
Jamie has a dog named Syn (see photo above). She is also an avid fiber artist and the lead of our Sip & Stitch group that meets at HiHO once a month. You might even say she’s “hooked” on yarn. Jamie likes to unwind with a nice sour ale at the end of the day.
-
Eman Taftaf
You know it’s going to be a great day when Eman brings in some baked goods. Even if there aren’t baked goods, when Eman is in the house, your day is automatically 5-10% better. It’s science.
-
Daniel Palmentera
You have heard Danny’s music in the taproom or at some other fine establishment in the area. And if you haven’t, it’s right here. He is dedicated to his craft and as hard-working as they come.
-
Kirsten Riley
When you meet Kirsten you just sort of get the vibe that she probably likes to go camping or at least on some pretty serious hikes. She may have even lived in the woods for a while, but she’s back in civilization now.
-
Danielle Kunkel
Danielle is a gifted florist and one of the weirdest weirdos that works behind the bar at HiHO. You have to expect the unexpected when she’s around. She brings a sort of tomfoolery to each shift that we all benefit from.
-
Olivia Scarano
Liv hosts a podcast with her friend called Disaster Hour, where they dive into all things chaotic and disastrous. But everyone has a podcast these days, so could someone out there listen to it and let us know if it’s worth listening to?
-
Luke Zelich
Here is a photo of Luke in a bathrobe. We had to ask him to hold it closed, because it actually looked more off-putting with it open. Luke possesses no apparent sense of style, however he is a pretty smart guy that knows a lot of stuff about a lot of different stuff. Go ahead, ask him anything.
-
Ben Vaughan
Ben’s hair holds all the secrets of the known world. When you forget your password, it’s Ben’s hair that retrieves it for you. Trigonometry? Ben’s hair has got you (and him) covered. Ben has a long history of creating art on canvases and with music. He also has the singing voice of 100 baby angels and he uses that to serenade us at karaoke.
-
Mike DeCarlo
Mike is a guy with a mustache and he’s an OK bartender. What we love about Mike is that he’s passionate about a lot of things: Coffee (he will most likely judge the kind you drink), movies and music, his beautiful and perfect wife, Jessie. He loves photography and took all of these photos. Thanks Mike, you’re a great photographer and an OK bartender.
